2019 ENERGY PROGRESS REPORT

WHY MORE ENERGY CONSERVATION

On March 27, 2019, the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario released her 2019 Energy Conservation Progress report, A Healthy, Happy, Prosperous Ontario: Why we need more energy conservation, to the Ontario Legislature.

The report examines the ongoing value of energy conservation in helping the province save money, reduce climate damage, and improve the health and well-being of Ontarians. It also identifies three key opportunities to maximize the potential of energy conservation including

1. improving utility conservation programs,
2. helping homeowners renovate their homes for energy efficiency, and
3. directing municipal growth to existing urban areas with jobs and transit.
